Ellie Mroz Design’s aesthetic has been described as Modern Traditional.
It’s a bright, approachable, fresh, and organic take on the traditional style that defines our town. Geographically, we are close to both the serene coastlines of the Atlantic and to the buzzing metropolitan city - both elements are represented in her design, but neither overwhelm. EMD’s designs have been described as touchable, livable, layered, laid-back and luxe.

THE PHILOSOPHY

The EMD team creates spaces that give her clients joy every day. Based on the belief that your most cherished items should be used every day, not stored away for special occasions, we encourage clients to choose items they love, and then incorporate those pieces seamlessly into their homes. 

THE STORY

Ellie’s passion for interiors began in the world of fashion. After graduating from Cornell University she enjoyed several years of internships in ready-to-wear and jewelry design, merchandising, and public relations, and finally forayed her love of all things beautiful into interior decor. 

It was a natural transition for her, as her husband’s business of residential home remodeling, Michael Robert Construction, began to grow. His clients would consistently ask Ellie for assistance choosing finishes for everything from countertops to door knobs, and eventually the furnishings that would fill their new homes. From here, a husband & wife design/build team grew.  And from there, a boutique interior design firm.   

The team has grown through Ellie’s creative vision into a group of talented professionals passionate about creating fresh and classic home design and interiors.

THE WORK                

Ellie Mroz Design is a full-service design firm serving clients in Ellie’s hometown of Westfield NJ, as well as Summit, Chatham, Short Hills, Summit Scotch Plains, Cranford, Mountainside and Millburn. Ellie’s team takes on projects ranging from one full room interior design to home concept design, space planning and selections for remodels and new home construction (The latter is with Michael Robert Construction clients exclusively.)  No matter the project, Ellie Mroz Design brings its fresh classic aesthetic to reflect each client’s unique inspiration and goals.

 
 

THE HUSBAND/WIFE TEAM

Ellie's team often works in conjunction with her hubby’s design/build full service general contracting firm to offer elevated home design with an expert designer’s eye on selections, details and plans - we call this MRC x EMD.
