So, how much is this gonna cost?? Money talks can be a little awkward.
We want to avoid that, while giving you a realistic understanding of what your dream space will cost. This gives you some guidance on typical costs so you can avoid surprises and focus on the good stuff.
We welcome furnishings projects of all sizes, beginning with at least one complete room.

Where a room starts
These are starting points, not prices. A room lands where it lands based on its size, its window count, how much is custom and how much you already own — and the spread between two versions of the same room is wide. Read every figure on this page as the bottom of a range that goes up from there.

Each figure covers the whole room — window treatments, lighting, furnishings, rugs, décor and art — rather than the furniture with the soft layer added later. The kitchen sits lowest because its cabinetry belongs to a construction budget; the family room sits highest because it holds the largest seating in the house.
Every figure on this page is a starting point, and every project is scoped individually. Use these to sanity-check a number you have in mind or to build one from scratch; they are a planning aid, never a quote. The way to read them is to total the rooms you want done and expect to land above it rather than below.

What is the minimum furnishings project Ellie Mroz Design will take?
One complete room. We welcome furnishings projects of all sizes, from a single room to a whole house, as long as the room is furnished completely — furniture, lighting, window treatments, rugs, décor and art together. A room finished by halves does not photograph or live the way a finished room does.
How much does it cost to furnish a room in New Jersey?
A furnished kitchen or eating area starts around $10,000; a living room, dining room or primary bedroom around $20,000; a family room around $25,000. Those are starting points rather than quotes, and each one covers the whole room — window treatments, lighting, furnishings, rugs, décor and art — not the furniture with the soft layer added later.
Why don't you publish a price list for individual pieces?
Because a room is not a shopping list. We deliberately mix price points inside a single room — spending where a piece carries weight and saving where it does not — so a per-item list would misrepresent how the money actually gets allocated, and the total of the cheapest column has never produced a room worth living in.
What makes one room cost more than another?
Its size, its window count, how much is custom, and how much you already own. Window treatments scale with the number of windows rather than the size of the room, seating takes the largest single share, and a rug is the line people most often forget to leave room for. The kitchen sits lowest because its cabinetry belongs to a construction budget.
Do these figures include design fees?
No. Every figure on this page is the furnishings investment only. Design fees are quoted individually against the scope of your project, and we will talk them through with you directly rather than publishing a number that would not apply to your house.
